Defence Principals was founded with a simple goal: to connect defence and security industries with the leadership and specialist talent they need to succeed. From C-suite executives to senior-level professionals, we understand that the right people drive innovation and create lasting impact.
Originally launched as People of Talent in 2021, the firm focused on finding talent within IT and tech sectors. Over time, we saw an increasing demand from defense and security organizations for highly specialized roles, spanning both leadership and technical expertise. This led us to rebrand as Defence Principals in 2024, aligning our services with the needs of companies operating in critical areas such as defence manufacturing, cybersecurity, and advanced technology.

Allan Buus began his career in the executive and professional search industry in 2012, specializing in leadership development, executive and professional search, and management consulting, primarily within IT and technology-driven sectors. Over the years, Allan has built a strong reputation for connecting top-tier talent with industry-leading companies across Europe.
In his career, Allan has accumulated significant leadership experience across both SMEs and large corporate environments, holding various executive roles where he has driven strategic growth, operational excellence, and organisational transformation. His extensive background in executive leadership enables him to deeply understand the challenges faced by organisations when it comes to securing top-tier talent.
In addition to his corporate leadership roles, Allan has also supplemented his expertise through part-time and voluntary roles in the military, gaining valuable insights into leadership under high-pressure and dynamic conditions. This combination of business and military leadership experience equips Allan with a unique perspective on organizational dynamics, which he leverages to support clients in the defence industry and beyond in finding the best leadership talent.
Originally founded as People of Talent in 2021, the firm initially focused on executive and Professional search assignments within the IT sector. In 2023, the brand Lohmann & Partners was created as an international partnership dedicated for executive-level search. In 2024, the brands were combined and rebranded as Defence Principals, shifting its core focus to providing executive search and leadership advisory services to the defence and security sectors across Europe.
